This document contains details on how to apply the enclosed patches as well as notes on what has changed from previous versions. Please note that these patches fix several bugs. It is highly recommended that all users of PowerBar Pro apply these patches.
Updating PowerBar Pro
NOTE: you should restart your Macintosh with the shift key held down to turn off extensions before using the updaters. Also, prior to applying this update, you should make a copy of the current version to have something on which to fall back should the update process go awry. (Although the updaters will preserve the old version when creating updates--unless you explicity replace the file--it's never a bad idea to back up before applying them.)
There are two files to be updated, the PowerBar Pro application itself and the PBP Key system extension. Please follow the process outlined below for EACH file, replacing the name with whatever is appropriate.
1. Double-click the PowerBar Pro 2.0->2.0.1 Update icon to launch the updater application.
2. Choose the old version of PowerBar Pro (2.0) in the dialog that appears.
3. Click “Update”
4. Another dialog will appear. Choose a location to which to save the updated file (and give it a new name if you want something other than what appears in the dialog).
5. Click “Save”
6. The file will be updated and you'll be presented with an alert notifying of it's success (or failure). Dismiss the alert and the update process will be complete.
Repeat these 6 steps for the PBP Key system extension (located in your System Folder:Extensions Folder).
